Nils Kok explains his research on the Economics of Green Building. He completed this research as a visiting scholar at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley and as assistant professor at Maastricht University, the Netherlands.

Nils and his team researched more than 27,000 buildings across the country and found that “green” buildings (buildings certified by USGBC in LEED or by EPA in EnergyStar) get significant premiums in rent and asset value and that occupancy is higher. The research even showed that the greener the building, the higher the building rents and transaction prices!
